Castillo Could Bring Good Luck!

Philadelphia fans have seen their Eagles go 1-4 through the first five games with the lone victory coming against the hapless, winless Rams.  Morale is low.  The fans are angry and calling for Reid’s head.  They wouldn’t mind Juan Castillo’s head.  Castillo, the Offensive Line Coach turned Defensive Coordinator, has been feeling the heat since his defense looks more porous than a piece of thinly sliced Finlandia.

There could be a silver lining in this scenario.  As currently setup, the Eagles are on pace to go 4-12.  That’s bad, but not quite bad enough.  That’s not bad enough to get lucky–Andrew Luck lucky.

Michael Vick is taking a beating.  This Eagles team will not be competitive for at least a year or two.  By that time, Vick should be a quarterback with diminishing returns.  Backup quarterback Mike Kafka doesn’t seem to have the skill set to be a starting NFL QB.  So let’s set our eyes on Andrew Luck.

The Stanford quarterback, who stands at 6-4 235lbs, is currently throwing the ball with a 71.4 completion percentage and has 11 TDs to 1 Interception with a QB rating of 178.0.  Last year, Luck completed the season with a 70.7 completion percentage, 32 TDs, 8 INTs and a QB rating of 170.2.  Luck is best NFL QB prospect in years.

There’s a simple solution to getting to the top of the Luck lottery, ask Big Red to step down and name Juan Castillo as interim Head Coach.  We’ve seen what he’s done with the defense, imagine what he could do with the entire team?
