Andy Reid Still Trying To Do Better?
What’s it been now? Thirteen years? And still, Andy Reid sits in front of the press at the day-after press conference and utters those infamous words, “I have to do a better job.” If any of us had gone to a restaurant and had thirteen multiple course meals and the final course always sucked, how many times would we keep going back? How about if the chef promised after each and every meal to do a “better job”? Four? Five times? Maybe.
How about if you hired an attorney and he’s lost all thirteen cases? Maybe he or she won some motions along the way, but at the end the verdict always goes against you. How many more times would you keep going back to that attorney?
ANDY REID CAN’T DO A BETTER JOB. That’s the fact. The gutless press refuses to ask the one obvious question: Is it possible that you can’t do a better job, Andy?
This is, as Joe Banner claimed, the Eagles going “all-in.” Please, do us all a favor Joe…don’t try so hard next year. You’re all-in is a joke.
The point has come when you have to question Andy Reid’s stubbornness to accept the fact that running the ball can be a good thing. Shady McCoy is one of the best RB’s in football and should be given the ball 20 times/game. And, at the very least, when you’re trying to hold onto a lead you shorten the game by running the ball effectively. Is it stubbornness or something more? Insanity? Perhaps, according to Joe Banner’s definition.
DeSean Jackson is whining about a contract. Maclin drops balls and fumbles at important turning points of games. These two receivers combined aren’t as good as the vilified 81, Terrell Owens. They’re soft and inconsistent.
Did MVE stand for Michael Vick Experience or Experiment? At this point, I’m not a fan of either one. The interception rate is out of hand. Teams are sitting back and making Vick read defenses, instead of opening up a chance at the big, broken play, and it’s effective at making MV look ordinary.
Juan Castillo is over-matched. The corners are in their own individual worlds. The linebackers are trying, but they aren’t very good.
This team steaks. The individuals are more important than the team. The coach continues to make the same mistakes over and over. Nothing changes. The one good thing about the Eagles organization is their PR staff because every summer they convince Eagles fans that they are a contender. We all buy into it. Until we don’t, it’s always gonna be more of the same mediocrity with hints of potential.
We are the suckers born every off-season!
Thank god for the Flyers, NCAA Basketball and hopefully the Sixers.
