I had a dream!

Let me take a moment to step away from ripping on Ruben Amaro, Jr and Marti Wolever to talk Sixers.  Wait, I can still squeeze a rip in.  Ruben and Marti are inept and have the destroyed the Phillies!

The draft is coming…The DRAFT IS COMING!  Rumors are swirling.  Reports of Hinkie being locked in on Wiggins make me smile.  Most think the Sixers will have to put a package together to get into the top two picks for a chance at Wiggins.  However, I’ve seen several mock drafts where Wiggins is still available at 3.  The Sixers will be fine holding at 3 and taking whichever player remains from the Wiggins, Embiid, Parker trio.  That’s where my dream comes together.

Most of my dreams are nonsense, like me actually being able to dunk a basketball or Ruben winning a World Series as a GM.  This dream might be half-sense.  This dream had the Sixers getting Parker at 3 and making a move with the Celtics to move up to the number 6 pick.  I’m not usually one to support a trade within the same Division, but this will work.  Stay with me.

The Celtics ranked 26th in scoring and 27th in 3 point shooting.  We know Celtics coach Brad Stevens likes to spread the floor and drain some outside buckets.  We know the Celtics have and/or will be working out Aaron Gordon, Doug McDermott and Nik Stauskas.  We also know Boston, the city, would be down with the next Larry Legend, the next Great White Hope.

McDermott and Stauskas should help with the scoring, three-point shooting, spreading the floor, and the Great White Hope crap.  Every mock draft that I’ve looked at have had either Gordon, Stauskas, or McDermott available at pick 10.  In my dream, the Sixers move the 10 pick, Thad Young, and the 32nd pick to the Celtics to move from 10 to 6.  With the number 6 pick, the Sixers grabbed Julius Randle.

Regardless of whichever of the top trio is left at pick 3, I’d be stoked adding Randle to that player.  Possible frontcourt scenarios would be: Embiid, Noel, Randle or Noel, Randle, Wiggins or Noel, Randle, Parker.

Dreams do come true.  That’s what someone told me as a kid.
