A Fan’s View: Weekend of 11/14

The Sixers are the worst team in basketball and there’s nothing wrong with that. They may actually be the worst team in all North American professional sports.

The Flyers are tied as the 6th worst team in the NHL. That’s a problem. The Sabres are clearly the worst team in the NHL.  However, the Flyers (16 points) can easily catch Carolina and Columbus (13 points) to get one of the coveted top 3 draft picks.

RJ Umberger really stinks. Dude has 2 shots in the last 3 games and zero points.  He’s averaging like 13 futile minutes a game.

Bama is going to get into the playoffs and win the National Championship, right?

Notre Dame are the frauds I hoped they were…sorry Irish fans.

Honest people hang out at Sugarhouse Casino. I left my phone on a blackjack table at about 4:30 a.m. and security had it by 5:15.  Thanks casino people and universe for the good luck!

When you’re shopping at a grocery store, leave your cart at the end of the aisle. Shopping was impossible this week while trying to get around the dozens of carts anchored in the middle of the aisles.

Where the hell is Zack Ertz? This guy is starting to make L.J. Smith.

If Aaron Rodgers is picking the defense apart because the defensive line can’t generate a pass rush, while not blitz the shit out of him? Chances are he’ll pick apart the blitz, but he was already picking them apart. Maybe a sack or knockdown might throw off Rodgers’ rhythm. Probably not, but why not try?

Lesean McCoy is just having a terrible year. Is it karma for spouting off about 2,000 yards? Maybe. However, it’s a typical down year after getting more than 300 carries the year before. I don’t want to hear about schemes against him any longer. Teams scheme against Arian Foster in Texas and he’s averaging 5.1 yards/attempt to Shady’s 3.7. Shady is 6th in rushing yards because he’s gotten the second most attempts, behind only DeMarco Murray.

Can Darren Sproles get a few more carries? He’s averaging 6.8 yards/carry.

Say what you want about Foles, who obviously has his limitations, but dude is resilient after knockdowns and when behind. Sanchez seemed to give up early in the game last night.

If Josh Huff wasn’t from Oregon he wouldn’t be from this team. He drops balls, runs bad routes, and gave up an easy tackle on the punt return last night. Did he think Micah Hyde called for a fair catch?

Chip Kelly looks at vegas lines? In his press conference today he made reference to Tampa Bay losing by 42 to the Falcons and then being a favorite last week.

Green Bay and the Patriots would make a ridiculous Super Bowl if the Eagles can’t get there.

Bill Belichick does more with guys from the trash heap than any other coach in history. Running Back Jonas Gray looked like Eric Dickerson against the Colts last night.
