Last Night’s Phillies Game in Review

Some random thoughts and sites from last night’s Phillies & Blue Jays game:

Ben Revere was announced at a batter in the first inning and he received a bunch of applause as he came to the plate in the first inning. Are you kidding me? The kid was here for a moment and did nothing special. Actually, he was pretty frustrating to watch. And, his twitter was even more frustrating. Glad to see him go.

-Some fans must not have been happy with parking still costing $10.

Bobbleheads should be given out as people leave the game. It’s a royal pain in the ass looking after the box all game. If it’s under your seat you have to worry about spilled liquids damaging the box. If you walk around the Alley it’s a pain in the ass to lug around. Even the people who just show up and grab the bobbleheads (violation!) can just turn around and grab on as they exit.

Cody Asche’s at-bat song is Tom Petty’s Breakdown. Nice work by him. Here’s a badass version of the song live from 1978!

-This happy couple got engaged at the ballpark

QUESTION: What song do they play at Citizens Bank Park after they happy couple get engaged? (Answer at the bottom of the post)

PSA: If you have a son about 10-13 year old and he’s with you at the urinals, please teach him proper protocol. Don’t let the kid stand next to you with his shorts dropped to the floor around his ankles and his bare backside exposed to everyone in the restroom! Nobody needs to see that and he’s just gonna get picked on at school for it. Dad has to do a better job there.

-Saw this A’s fan at the ballpark. He’s from Oakland, but doing a tour of ballparks along the East Coast and representing his home squad. Always liked the A’s gear!

Billy Joel and Zack Brown Band concerts screwing up the outfield grass in centerfield. This stuff should happen after the season ends.
