A Fan’s View: Eagles Packers Preseason

It’s time for A Fan’s View of the past week’s Eagles Packers game. Pardon the junky looking pictures. Dumb-ass me DVR’d the game on low def. D’Oh!

-Mike Mayock didn’t get the memo that the Lumberjack Look had it’s 90 seconds of fame. Suddenly, he’s a goatee guy? It didn’t work for Troy Aikman and it’s not working for Mayock. I’m not digging it.

-This Wawa dude get more annoying each week. Stop showing this!! No one is this happy at the sandwich counter at Wawa or anywhere.

–Eagles special teams continue to impress. Amazing how good they look each week. Long runbacks, forced fumbles, tipped punts! They might have to be the first D/ST drafted in your fantasy league.

–Darren Sproles is a royal pain in the ass for defensive coordinators. Last week, we saw his school a safety on a 3rd and 6 completion. On the Sproles TD pass for the first score of the game, Sproles had two steps on the Packers linebacker. Matchup-Nightmare!

–Tebow failed doing the one thing we all assumed he could do. He received the snap and ran straight ahead, yet couldn’t get convert the 2-point attempt. Weak!

-Does this defense look like the defense of a racist? I think not…just saying!

–Lambeau Field sounded like empty mausoleum by the end of the 1st quarter.

-How nice it to see a DeMarco Murray, a stud RB who sees the holes and hits them, football-wise? Get your heads out of the gutter!

-“They are shredding this Green Bay defense!” – Mike Mayock

-Can someone please jam Sam Bradford’s jersey sleeves under his shoulder pads?

-The Eagles defense showed signs of vulnerability vs a backup Green Bay O-Line, QB and receivers, but Kiko Alonso still hasn’t played. He’s probably the best defensive player after Cox when healthy.

-Is Bradford’s agent the luckiest guy in sports right now? Ok, maybe Running Backs Coach Duce Staley.

-Dude with the Favre jersey needs to chill out on his enthusiasm for a preseason Lambeau Leap.

-Has there been a more exciting backup in the preseason in recent memory than Kenjon Barner?

-Love how Lincoln Financial has ads featuring a guy with his kid at an Eagles game, but can’t show any Eagles logos. How bad is it? The guy on the lower right has his Donovan McNabb Eagles jersey on inside out. You can see the 5 if you look closely.

-Does every Defensive Line coach go with the Grizzly Adams look?

-Here’s a case of bad sports parenting. These things have no place in a football stadium. They aren’t even packers colors. They are more Oregon. Why wouldn’t mom and dad hand down those cheeseheads, instead?
