A Day in Jawnville: Eagles Training Camp

Monday, Jawnville was lucky enough to get a peek into Eagles Training Camp. So, we figured we’d share the experience our observations.

The gates opened about a forty-five minutes prior to practice beginning. People started lining up about half hour before that.

Once through the gates, the walk to the practice fields is lined with Eagles flags of current players and photos of Eagles legends.

One thing that needs mentioning is the cheerfulness of the entire Training Camp staff, except a couple over-zealous security types, but that’s to be expected. The staff at Novacare welcomes the public as if it’s an amusement park and they are there to ensure everyone has a good time.

Just before the practice fields they have a bunch of tents with different attractions for the fans.

Kids dug an Equipment Try-On Station, where they could try on official gear.

G-Cobb manned the Alumni autograph station. The lack of a line is a disrespect to Cobb. He may not have been the greatest Eagle, but he did give fans of sports radio in town the All Ugly shows. Those alone should be reason to get their photos with G. We ended up passing, too. Go figure.I guess because G was only an Eagle for three years and the current rate of Cobb autographed merch is $9.99.

Cheerleaders welcoming fans into the field area…ain’t nothing wrong with that.

A small pop-up merch booth. Smart-thinking selling those footballs with areas for autographs. Eagles business peeps know what’s up. Every good father had to buy one.

IMG_9521Speaking of good dad’s. They were everywhere.

By far, the biggest surprise was seeing Chase Daniel in person. He’s listed at 6’0″. He didn’t even look 5’10”. Here’s a shot of him next to Sam Bradford with his helmet on top of his head. Bradford still looks taller.

The setup gives visitors an up-close at the action. This was a light day as the team was in shells after an open practice the night before.

This guy was on the Brandon Graham train early. He’s rockin’ the old 54 Graham jersey.

Eskin paced back and forth for most of the practice in his Oakley gear and a belt phone-holder.

Eliot Shorr-Parks grabbing some shrubbery photos. Kudos to his hair product for holding up in the blazing August sun.

Ertz signing for fans. Good dude who looks to have a big year.

Ertz meeting up with some reporters after putting in some extra work. Love Zach Berman‘s work. He looks far taller on TV.

We can’t do a post without a of Training Camp Violation. Exhibit A. We have no idea what this is. It looked like a cross between a Kelce jersey and Christmas sweater. An intern said it’s a Noble Elite Jersey.

To close our look back at Training Camp, more cheerleaders.

Have no complaints at all about the way the Eagles ran the training camp. Oh, one. The stands where people can watch the practices could use a sunsetter. Yo, that sun is hot.

The hospitality was spot on. Let’s hope the season is as good as the Training Camp staff.

As always, thanks for reading and sharing! Hope you enjoyed a look at camp.
