Ever See This Jawn at Citizens Bank Park?
Been to a Phillies game? Ever notice this jawn before???
I’ve been down to the ballpark hundreds of times and never once saw this phone, which stands alone against the fence behind left-center field, just at the western edge of Ashburn Alley, almost hidden by shrubbery.
But it’s there. A freakin’ classic.
How much is a local call on a pay phone these days? $.50.
And guess what? IT WORKS!
I found out through a little post-game research that the American with Disabilities Act requires that public buildings/stadiums have TYY/TDD compliant phones for those with difficulties speaking or hearing. This phone checks that box.
Next time you’re at the old ballpark take a stroll and say hello to this device of times gone by. If you know of any more of these jawns at CBP or find them at the Linc, hit me up on twitter.
