BREAKING: Tonewood Has Arrived in Philly

A few years back, I drank my first Tonewood Brewing Fuego IPA at the legendary but now closed, Irish Mile. It was love at first taste with Tonewood Brewing, which is located in Oaklyn, NJ. The problem was that it was not available in Philly.

Aside from Yards, Tonewood is my favorite brewery right now. Everything they do is pretty much spectacular. Finding Tonewood in Philly has been harder than finding a mail carrier before noon these days. Royal Izakaya has had it on draft lately at a whopping $9 a pint. I almost couldn’t believe my eyes when I saw this on Instagram:

I ran over to Bella Vista Beverage yesterday afternoon to see if it was true. I searched the New Jersey beer aisle and there was nothing. Nada. Zilch. Could they have been sold out already? I walked to the counter to ask about it. THERE IT WAS. In all of its canned glory.

$13.49 is a total steal since I regularly paid $5 to get over the bridge and grab a six-pack of it.

If you have time this week, run to Bottle Bar East, Local 44 West Philly, and Bella Vista Beverage to grab them before they go.

A full Philly roll-out is expected next week. Beers in Philly just got even better, like that was even possible.

Beer…MMmmmmmm.
