A Fans View: Eagles vs. Redskins

Yo…the Eagles are 3-0.

Is Kirk Cousins that good or is the Eagles pass defense that bad?  If Cousins can throw for 400 yards against the Eagles, Petyon and Brady may be able to put up 600 yards.

jason_peters_Achilles_03302012Jason Kelce is fast! Love seeing an offensive lineman hustling down field for blocking. Hopefully he’s a fast healer. Reports are that he may be out two months with a hernia issue.

Jason Peters is a foxhole guy.  He’s a baller who has his teammates backs.  Some other guys pointed for the refs to throw a flag.  Peters just reacted to defend his teammate.  Love it!

When Desean made that TD catch, I regretted not having him on the team.  When he ran directly to the locker room, instead of shaking hands after the game, I was glad he wasn’t on the Eagles.  Punk!

Cary Williams, please don’t complain about being tired after you were beaten on a long pass.  I think he even threw his teammate under the bus by mentioning that he thought he had help coming.  Did he miss two days of practice this week? How tired could he be? Maybe if the defense got off the field with a stop he wouldn’t have been so tired.  And, he said the fatigue from the hard practices are what cause the slow starts.  That doesn’t make sense because they’ve been better in the second halves.  According to his logic, the defense should be gassed and worse in the second half.  Go to practice, play hard, consult people on sconces.

Nick Foles is tough.  Nick Foles is not 11-1 in regular season games that he has started and finished.  11-1.  If you can’t get behind this kid after the pounding that he took yesterday and still threw for over 300 yards and 3 TDs against a defense that had been ranked #1 then you have some irrational hate on the kid.  Yeah, he’s awkward and nerdy.  Yeah, he’s a rich kid. However, he makes good decisions with the ball most of the time.  I can’t remember the last time I saw a QB take a beating like Foles took yesterday behind a 3rd string offensive line.

The beating was like a Rocky film with Apollo Creed just knocking the kid to the ground again and again and he just kept getting up.  Don’t we like underdogs in this city? Don’t we like lunch-pail hard-workers? Guys like Bobby Jones and Jim Eisenreich? Guys from small colleges like Brian Westbrook?

Is he a franchise QB? Who cares.  He says the right things, does the right things and is a fighter.  AND HE’S 11-1 with an average defense on the other side of the ball.

On the road, banged up against San Fran is a tough task.  If they lose, it’s not the end of the world.  Relax and enjoy this ride.  Gonna be a fun year.
