Weekend Preview: 10/03/14

NEWS: The 4th Annual Black Landlord BBQ the Ukie Club has been postponed to October 11th due to rain possibilities.  If it wasn’t on your calendar, put it on there if ya like good food and great music.  Here’s a video if you’re not familiar.

THINGS TO DO:

Tis the season to be scared and not just because of Ebola in the US.  It’s Halloween time. Head to Penns Landing for a haunted Ghost Tour of the USS Olympia.

If you’re a fan of blues or blues rock ya gotta check out Philly’s Steve Cal’ Band at Fergie’s Pub Saturday night at 10:00.  No cover!  FREE…just pay for drinks.  Here’s a little of Steve Cal’ Band.

This weekend is also Outdoorsy Weekend at the Oval on the Parkway.  There pop-up beer gardens, movie screenings, food trucks and other festivities all weekend on the Parkway. Yards is providing most, if not all, of the beer.  There are family events all weekend.  Films shown are Moonrise Kingdom on Friday (9:00 p.m.) and the original 1961 Parent Trap on Saturday (7:00 p.m.).  The Eagles game will be televised live on Sunday.

TEASER TIME:
Last week we went 2-0 with our teasers.  

On the college docket this week we like Stanford.  Stanford is a -2 vs. Notre Dame.  Tease Stanford to a +4 in the off chance they lose by a field goal.  Kentucky is +4 vs. South Carolina. We like the tease of Kentucky to +10.

The NFL tease this week is once again using Tampa Bay.  Tampa is currently +10 vs. the Saints.  We’ll grab them at +16 to cover that 2TD loss.  We also like Jets vs. the Chargers. Jets are currently +7 dogs and we love them at +13.  Chargers will not be able to run against the Jets and Rivers may struggle.
