A Fan’s View: Eagles/Cowboys Aftermath

-Whatever NBC was doing to the audio on SNF, please stop. It sounded as if they were trying to enhance the sound of the crowd, but ended up sounding like a digitally processed, tinty disaster. I spent the first ten minutes of the game adjusting my TV, cable box, and stereo.

-The Eagles/Cowboys games drew SNF’s highest viewing audience of 24.3 million viewers.

3rd downs, couldn’t convert.

-Where was Jordan Matthews, aside from dropping the one pass?

-Why are Eagles CBs still not turning their heads around to avoid the Pass Interference calls?

-The Red Zone seemed perfect when the ball was taken out of Mark Sanchez’ hands (Polk, Polk, Sproles).

-I loved seeing the Eagles back in green. Hated looking at the TV last week and not seeing any Eagles green on the field. Retire the black uniforms.

-Notice Bradley Cooper sitting between Mr. & Mrs. Lurie? Was that at the request of Mrs. Lurie? That takes some self-confidence on Jeffrey’s  part. However, while Bradley is a heartthrob actor, Jeff knows that he’s a billionaire.  Nothing says sexy like a fat wallet!

-When will the Eagles staff and front office stop telling us that Riley Cooper is having a season comparable to last year. He’s not. That was an anomaly. He currently ranks 84th in the NFL in receiving yards. He’s a #2 WR on a team that currently has the 7th most passing yards in football? I’m no math major but that has to put him near the bottom 10th percentile in starting WRs/TEs. Again, Kelvin Benjamin taken a couple of picks after project Marcus Smith. Would he help this squad?

-Actually, the 2014 NFL draft seems like a disaster. Jordan Matthews is a nice player, but Kelvin Benjamin would have a bigger impact since Matthews can’t play on the outside.

-Why did the Eagles take a pass-rushing project in the first round? Was a pass-rusher that big of a need? Last year they ranked 20th in sacks. This year, they rank #2 with 47 behind only Buffalo and ZERO contribution from their first round pick.  I guess the Eagles didn’t see the potential of the talent (Curry, Cox, and Barwin) already on the roster or they misjudged it. That’s scary.

-Last year the Eagles defense was ranked 32nd in passing yards. Obviously, a lack of pass rush wasn’t the reason for this, since they have a good pass rush this year and are ranked 28th in passing yards allowed.  It’s the secondary! It’s been the secondary. Why take Marcus Smith, a project, in the 1st round when Safety Deone Bucannon was still on the board? Arizona took him the pick after Smith and he’s starting on a very good Cardinals defense.  Five picks after Smith, Denver selected CB Bradley Roby, who is starting and is the first rookie cornerback in the last 25-plus years to record multiple interceptions, forced fumbles, and fumble recoveries with at least one sack.  Whatever that means, other than he’s playing good football and would’ve had a bigger impact on the Eagles than Marcus Smith.

-I heard Chip Kelly say that when they doubled Dez, Romo went to Witten. When they doubled Witten, Dez was open. Who doubles Jason Witten at this point? Witten had 69 yards against the Eagles. His best day this year was 70 yards vs. Washington. He’s not half the player he was three years ago.  He’s averaging 40 yards/game and is on pace for his lowest amount of targets in his career. He has 4 TDs. Witten is not going to beat you. If he does, then you’ve got linebacker issues in addition to secondary issues.

-The Dallas Morning News ran a story yesterday about how Eagles fans pelted the Cowboys bus with bottles and eggs.  Check out some of the readers’ comments:

Q:  What do they call a Superbowl Parade in Philly?
A:  The Walk of Shame

toothlessinark
Philly has been known as the armpit of NFL fanbases for years.

PhilipS
Ah, the City of Brotherly Love.

Our Founding Fathers would be proud!

GO Cowboys Kick More @ss!

Tom
Lowlifes in the  city of brotherly love, haha

Susan Jodoin
38 -27. Gotta love it when dipshits get their comeuppance, lol.

Rick Highfill
I don’t see any Philly fans expressing love for their team, just hate for the Cowboys.

James Scott
When I was stationed at Fort Dix, years ago, someone suggested I go to see Philadelphia, bad mistake. I almost fell in a mud hole and constantly stepping on brown stuff.. I liked the ‘Liberty Bell but everything else sucked, big time. I was discouraged…

Tom
Not to worry, I was there 3 weeks ago and it hasn’t changed.  Although it is even dirtier than you think.

James Scott
Just goes to show you what kind of slime and class-less people there are living in this part of the United States. I can almost understand why they would be so ruthless to the Cowboys I guess. We’ve certainly been a part of helping this team not ever ‘winning a Super Bowl championship to this date.

Don Cooper
Not everyone in Philadelphia is a gutless low-life swine. No wait… apparently I was wrong. Yes they are, even the children and old people. Absolute scum..

Rick Highfill
Like Sanchez, they missed 2/3 of their throws.  They couldn’t hit the broad side of a bus, either.

SukMadiqq
They couldn’t hit Broad Street with a bus.

Ricardo Colombo
Actually, the reporters in the bus who travel the league with the Cowboys were pretty clear in saying it only happens in Philly.

Tom Field
Classless Eagle fan scum.

Mike Cirillo
Classless Eagles fans.  No surprise.

MidniteCowboy
Maybe Eagles should audition those guys for QB?

Ed Blair
When there is not a game the Philly fans go to the airport and boo the landings.

Robert Limbrick
I told y’all they don’t have no class in Philadelphia and that proves me right do it.

Rick Highfill
They are the least classy fans in the NFL.  In fact, the fans reflect the lack off class and decency of the citizens of the whole city.

Be nice to one another.  Remember, if you’re bringing an animal into your home this Holiday Season it’s always better to Adopt instead of Shop.  Philly ACCT is a great place to start.
