A Fan’s View: Eagles Falcons Week 1

Well, that wasn’t how we all envisioned Monday night going. The first half was extremely brutal. The second half better, but a loss is a loss.

Without further adieu, here’s this fan’s view of the Eagles Falcons game.

-Obviously, the secondary struggled mightily from the get go. They even seemed to take a page out of the Steelers defense from Thursday night where they left Gronk uncovered. Julio Jones had moments where he looked completely uncovered. The space that he was able to get all night was remarkable. Where was Billy Davis’ adjustments?

–Eric Rowe’s struggling is a deal-breaker for the secondary. Chris Maragos is a special teams phenom, but he shouldn’t be on the field playing safety regularly on defense.

–Malcolm Jenkins has to make that interception in the first quarter. That’s a game changer.

–Arthur Blank looks like a villain from Casablanca or Maltese Falcon.

–Sam Bradford not supposed to take hits like this on screens, right?

-Yo, what is up with that psycho looking bear in the Barbera car commercial?

-I hate Billy Davis coaching from the booth. Get on the field to feel the energy of the game and the players instead of behind glass 50 feet above.

-Who was the annoying, Dave Spadaro-looking guy in a suit yelling at Byron Maxwell about a pass interference call. beat it tool.

-Why isn’t Julio Jones’ name pronounced Hulio Hones? If you’re going with the H sounding J in the first name, why not the last name? Let’s get our consonant sounds consistent.

-That Kiko Alonso catch was  #sick #ridic #bonkers. Call it whatever you want. He probably made the best catch of the year in the first quarter of the season.

-Attention Eagles: showing your own hype video during your game is like a band wearing own t-shirt to while on stage. That’s a Violation!

-Falcons linebacker O’Brien Schofield linebacker ballhawk and his first name is a last name.

-Why was there a dude wearing a camou Cowboys hat at the Falcons/Eagles game? Bottom left side.

-Was Matt Ryan screaming Atlanta as an audible or Mylanta?

-Guys on the national broadcast know how to dress. They don’t mess around with patterned shirts with patterned ties. Obviously, it’s too distracting. I hope Mike Mayock and the Eagles Network are paying attention. Solid shirts with patterned ties or vice versa.

-Matt Ryan has an extra long neck.

-How did F&J get a spot on the broadcast? The production on the commercial looks like something made for 2 a.m. broadcasts. Ya gotta love the green recycling symbol next to “CA$H IN!” That’s also brilliant placement of the dollar sign in the word cash. Nothing subtle about this great ad! I’m not quite sure who I should be calling JD or Frankie? I’m assuming Frankie handles scrap and Mr. Clean handles cleanouts.

-Is Miller Lite too cheap to pay for the rights to put an authentic Cowboys jersey in their Troy Aikman commercial? Or does the NFL not allow their logos/jerseys in commercials for alcohol even though they allow alcohol ads during their games? That would be pathetically hypocritical. Either way it’s a Violation.

-Too much green in Chip’s windbreaker. Team plays better when he’s total ninja/Johnny Cash mode in all black. Get rid of the green on the arms!

-Barsky Jewelers, please stop with the Fabulous Barsky Boys. It may have sounded witty or funny when you were drunk, but it’s bad. That’s not bad being good, but bad being cheesy. I’ve bought stuff from these guys. Their quality of product is too high for these spots.

-Did these two dudes come together?

-The refs had some questionable calls, but the one at with 4:02 left in the game on Kelce wasn’t one of them. You can’t wrap dude up and toss him to the field.

-Do you see the gestures these two assistants with the red wristbands are doing to call a play? It’s the old Scratch-the-Armpits-and-Peephole play!
