Rant: Yo Knuckleheads…Leave Amtrak the F**k Alone

LEAVE AMTRAK ALONE! Who are these kids or people throwing glass-breaking projectiles at Amtrak trains in Northeast Philly? Knock it the fuck off, already.

Back in the day we all did stupid stuff as kids. We threw snowballs at cars, but who didn’t? Even now, as a driver, I’m on alert while driving through the city after a snowstorm, expecting a snowball at any time. These Amtrak shenanigans take that to a ludicrous and moronic level.

Yesterday, an Amtrak train was hit by a projectile in the Bridesburg section of the city. Freelance Taylor Lorenz of New York tweeted out this picture of the damaged window. Luckily, no one was injured and the train continued on its way after investigators inspected the rest of the train.

The train that crashed in Frankford last year was also struck by an object, though they haven’t ruled that as the reason for the crash. Amtrak people report trains being hit by projectile while going through North/Northeast Philly quite often.

This is the first time I’m advocating staying in and playing video games instead of being outside. If you’re gonna shoot shit or throw shit at Amtrak trains moving at a high rate of speed stay the hell in your house. We’re trying to have a civilized society here where people can travel safely between Philly and NYC or Boston and don’t need your bullshit.

Next time you or your buddies suggest shooting/throwing stuff at Amtrak trains go back inside, smoke a bowl, and play Madden or pick up hookers in Grand Theft Auto.
