VIDEO PREMIERE: Driftwood Soldier’s “The Tools”

You residents are Jawnville are a special bunch and for that reason we bring you an exclusive video by our friends Driftwood Soldier. If you’re new to Jawnville, Driftwood Soldier is a band we’re significantly hyped about. Driftwood is a gutter-folk band from West Philly, in fact, they are the only gutter-folk band as they invented the genre. They gave us a heads up on a new video they released to for their song The Tools, which gives props to the farming and sustainable agriculture world.

The live shots of the band feature them playing at Bartram’s Garden, in front of Sankofa Community Farm. The distinctive and impressive voice of Owen Lyman-Schmidt with Bobby Szafranski’s impeccable bass playing never disappoints.

The band is on a definite upwards trajectory and deservingly so. This Spring they were featured on WXPN’s folk show, where they were interviewed and played some songs like, they recently did pop-up performances throughout The Philly Music Fest, are in pre-production with talented singer-songwriter Erin McKeown, and are getting ready to hit the studio to record a new record. They also have a kickstarter up for the new record. So if you like what they’re doing and feel inclined to donate a couple bucks go HERE.

Here’s the video for The Tools. Enjoy.
