Don’t Forget About Reading Terminal!
The Wednesday before Thanksgiving at Reading Terminal is one of my favorite days of the year. My buddy does a live radio show from the Terminal while kicking off the Holiday Season. The energy is great as people move about loading up on snacks and Thanksgiving Day meal essentials.
This year, that isn’t happening. However, I still ventured over to keep some sort of tradition going. I had to hit Beiler’s Bakery and my cheese guy at Downtown Cheese Shop.
I dreaded my trip to the market fearing massive crowds during a pandemic. The crowds weren’t massive. There wasn’t much of a crowd at all. The market was nicely spaced out. Everyone was masked. In other words, shopping for last-minute Thanksgiving Day treats felt safe and comfortable.
Beiler’s Bakery wasn’t even busy enough to use their numbering system. It’s a sad state for Reading Terminal, but you still have time to make a trip if you were considering it. They are open until 7 tonight (Tues 24th) and 6 on Wednesday the 25th.
Go support Reading Terminal Market and grab some goodies for this bizarre pandemic Thanksgiving weekend.
Here’s my bounty from Beiler’s. I’ll be about 9lbs heavier by Monday.
