A Fan’s View: Recap of Weekend

Saw Foxcatcher Friday night. It’s a good flick about crazy millionaire John DuPont and his weird obsession with Olympic wrestlers.  There isn’t a lot of action, but the story is good and worth seeing.

Congrats to all the runners who ran the marathons in town this weekend.

The 76ers are still winless and the Flyers  are fifth worst in the NHL. The Flyers ended a four game losing streak, unfortunately if you’re playing along in the race to get Connor McDavid.  He’s got 51 points in 18 games so far in the OHL.

The Eagles beat up a bad Titans team.

Mark Sanchez is Mark Sanchez. He makes good plays and horrible plays.

The secondary continues to struggle at times.

Emmanuel Acho injured his groin.  That means Casey Matthews gets more playing time and Marcus Smith may get on the field.  Demarco Murray is already salivating.

Okay, Josh Huff you made amends for last week’s disaster of a game.

Someone on the Eagles training staff has one bad-ass moustache.

The Rams don’t win many games, but they keep them close.

The Broncos aren’t what they used to be.

The Patriots are. Tom Brady and the Patriots shredded the Detroit Lions, the number one ranked defense in points and yards per game.

Sunday Night Football gave us one of the great catches we’ve all ever seen as Odell Beckham, Jr got mugged while making an acrobatic, one-handed, finger-tip catch.

Sunday Night Football also gave us one of the worst catches of the night when they caught Giants Executive Steve Tisch kissing, what looked to be a woman out of his league. Sometimes, nothing makes a guy more attractive than a fat wallet. He looked kind of creepy, if ya ask me.

I watched Sunday Night Football cheering for Eli and the Giants. Then, I wondered if it would be better for the Eagles on Thursday if the Cowboys won instead of them being fired up coming off a loss. Maybe. So, I’m okay with the Cowboys winning. Eagles win either way.
