What Eagles Fans Learned From Week 1 of the 2021 Season

WHAT DID EAGLES FANS LEARN FROM NFL’S WEEK 1?

-Nick Sirianni is a better head coach than first-time press conference interviewee. We didn’t see any Rock, Paper, Scissors. However, we did see a team with a game-plan, that made adjustments, and a play-caller who didn’t ask too much of his young QB by asking him to throw fifty times.

-The Eagles committed far too many penalties and the defense missed a ton of tackles—we knew the defense, outside of the DL, wasn’t the most talented bunch. However, Nick Sirianni walked the walk and talked the talk of a legitimate head coach in the NFL.

-Jalen Hurts looked more than capable behind center. I know it was the Falcons and not the Rams, but he made some great reads and looked composed throughout the games. He was a nice change from the happy, spaz feet of Carson Wentz.

-Nick Sirianni is a better coach than the Falcons’ Arthur Smith. Of course, he is. Nick’s Italian! It’s genetics. The Lombardi Trophy is also named after an Italian head coach so why wouldn’t Sirianni be solid?

-All professional athletes from Australia don’t suck, like Ben Simmons. Jordan Mailata is a beast out there blowing guys up all over the field. The Eagles Aussie punter, Arryn Siposs (who??) looked like Ray Guy reincarnated in his first NFL game putting three punts inside the 20—two of which were inside the 10. Oh, and his dad’s name is Attila.

-Greg Olsen got himself that fancy new retirement hair like Drew Brees.

-Jalen Hurts is the second-best quarterback in the NFC East, behind Dak.

-Arthur Blank refuses to give up the jazz bebop/train-robbing villain look.

-The Eagles are in First Place and put up the most Week 1 points among NFC East teams.

-Matt Ryan should’ve retired after last year.

-Jason Peters should’ve retired two years. What was Juan Castillo thinking signing him at this point? That might be Juan’s second-worst decision ever, behind the one to accept the Offensive Coordinator job with the Eagles. Peters didn’t even make it through the first half before getting injured. Sad ending to a brilliant career.

-Did play-by-play announcer Kevin Burkhardt really praise JJAW for his blocking? That was weird and out of nowhere.

-The new NFL jersey rules suck. I don’t like it. I hate it. I hate running backs with numbers in the teens and single-digit safeties. I do, however, like single-digit wide receivers and cornerbacks. That should be allowed to stay, but change the others back. Kenneth Gainwell’s 14 on a running back doesn’t look right. [BOOMER RANT OVER].

-What do Daniel Jones and NY Giants fans have in common? They both stink.

-The Los Angeles Rams new SoFi Stadium looks badass.

-The Washington Football Team quarterback jinx has replaced the Maddon Cover Jinx.

-Jac Collinsworth sucks worse than his dad Cris.
